Some tips for Dancers #27:   "Wanna Dance?"

Dear Girls,

I just got this email from a former Dancer in America, she was one of the TOP earning girls in the club where She worked before, I had the opportunity to find about her in Las Vegas and I want to share this with you, does it sounds familiar?

"Anyone remember those days when all you had to do was this:

1) slap some make up on
2) show up
3) walk around aimlessly and say "Wanna Dance?"

If this is you (and I'm not trying to insult you) how is that approach working for you these days?  Now, to completely honest there are SOME circumstances when "Wanna Dance?" DOES still work, like on packed nights when there aren't enough girls, or if there are more customers than dancers.  But for the most part. if you are a "Wanna Dancer" there are probably lots of nights where you just barely make your house fee back.

The primary reason "Wanna Dance?" doesn't work is because you are invalidating the customer as a person.  As much as we'd like to think of customers as a horny ATM machines, they are living, breathing, feeling human beings...just like you....and deserve to be treated with respect.  There is a reason why he walked into the strip club, and it's your job to figure out what his reason is.  Think about it this way.  Every guy who walks into the strip club has a Penthouse Letter fantasy in his head.  He WANTS a hot girl to play out that fantasy; even if he's picky, or a limited buyer on a budget, he WILL buy dances from the one dancer who can get inside of his head and BE what he wants. Always remember, the best way to get what you want is to help other people get what they want."*

Working in Asia can be a new challenge for dancers that are used to the "Wanna Dance?" sentence, the cultures are different, some guests in Asia don't even know what is a Lap Dance... but if you put the effort to show guests a new type of experience, a new type of entertainment, it will help you to break some cultural barriers AND will help you to increase your income considerably.
So when you start your shift just remember the very basics of our industry, we are getting paid for entertain guests... this is our job description.
Start with a positive attitude every night and remember that it doesn't matter where is the guest coming from, or how much money he has, all men are potential costumers and they can spend money on you if you treat them as what they are, PEOPLE and not Walking ATM Machines.

Have a great day,
Francisco Leon
